SENIOR ATHLETE TOY PEP RALLY GUIDELINES

Eligibility

The Toy Pep Rally is for senior athletes.

Seniors are eligible to participate if they:

● Are participating in a fall sport during their senior year: football, cheerleading, volleyball, tennis, or cross-country; OR

● Plan to participate in a winter or spring sport during their senior year: basketball, baseball, softball, golf, or track. To be eligible to participate in this pep rally, these seniors must also have participated in that same sport at Williamsburg Academy during their junior year.

Pep Rally Participation

The Varsity Cheerleaders will conduct the pep rally. Cheerleaders will carry each toy onto the floor and present it to the senior. J.V. Cheerleaders will assist 

if needed.

Parents, siblings, boyfriends, girlfriends, and other family members or friends will attend as spectators only and will not participate in the presentation.

Other students or children will be included only when needed to wear a costume or to operate a toy or vehicle, such as a bicycle or toy Jeep.

The Toy

Each senior must be represented by an actual toy that was meaningful to him or her. A person the senior played with as a child may not be used in place of a toy.

Toy guns and toy knives are not permitted.

What Parents Need to Do

Choose a toy that meant—or still means—something special to your son or daughter.

Write a short poem or a few paragraphs about the toy. This must be no longer than one page, 

double spaced.

 You could include:

● Where the toy came from

● Why it was special to your child

● How your child played with it

● A favorite memory or story involving the toy

Place the toy and the written piece together into a sealed bag (trash bag, grocery bag, gift bag), and deliver to the school office by 

Tuesday, September 29.

IMPORTANT: Your child’s name must be written clearly on the paper so that we know which senior the toy belongs to.
